how to get all three starter pokemon in pokemon legend arceus

Curious to know how to get all three starter pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus? Here’s how.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a bit different than most mainline pokemon games. There’s a huge interactive world to explore with plenty of new exciting gameplay. The game takes place in an ancient version of the Sinnoh region called Hisui. Trainers can select between Rowlet, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott for their starter pokemon in Legends: Arceus.

At the beginning of the game, you’ll have to make a choice between one of the three. Once you’ve adventured a bit, you can also obtain the other two starters without needing to trade with another player. You’ll need to complete the main story of the Hisui region to unlock the starter pokemon for your party. Here’s how.

Space-Time Distortions

Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott can only be caught in space-time distortions, like the one you see in the image above. Trainers can also find their evolutions in these distortions. They’re the easiest way to find the other pokemon starters in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

These space-time distortions pop up around the Hisui region and trainers can catch rare pokemon inside them. It’s never a bad idea to check out any distortion you may see in the distance, even if it’s quite far away. They’re an interesting new addition to the Pokemon franchise, making it easier to spot areas of high interest.

These distortions don’t start appearing in the game until after Kleavor has been defeated. After trainers manage to do that, they’ll get a message mentioning the distortions. These special events can last anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes – so not very long. You can find starter Pokemon in the following regions:

  • Coronet Highlands | Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye
  • Crimson Mirelands | Cyndaquil, Quilava, Typhlosion
  • Alabaster Icelands | Oshawott, Dewott, Samurott

Having a high research level and completing research tasks increases the chance for these distortions to appear. You can encounter very pokemon once inside, so be sure to bring your A-Team or a way to evade unwanted encounters.

Jubilife Village

If you don’t want to hunt around in distortions, you can finish the game’s main story. Head to Jubilife Village and speak to Professor Laventon in the Galaxy Building. He’ll give you the two remaining starter pokemon to help you complete your pokedex.

These are the only two ways you can obtain the other starter pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. If you want the starters before you finish the game, you’ll need to trade with another player to receive them.
